Q. What is the admission procedure for children with disability?

A. Admission will be based on the assessment findings of the Multi Disciplinary Team comprising of Specialists and Doctors.

Q. How do I get an appointment for assessment?

A. Appointments for assessment can be made through email or by phone. Appointments are usually given for Mondays but Assessments can take 2-4 days.

Q. What is the age criteria for admission to the hostel?

A. The child should be between the age of 9 to 18 years and we do not provide life long care.

Q. What is the criteria for admission to the day school?

A. Children who are 6 years and above are given admission to the day school. A child below 6 years may be provided early intervention services 2-3 times a week, depending on the need. Those living outside Dehradun and who cannot be provided services on campus may be given a home based programme.

Q. Is medical care available on campus?

A. Yes, there are 2 doctors. If the child is on regular medication, eg.,for epilepsy, and is living in the hostel, the nursing staff will ensure that the medicines are given as prescribed.

Q. What is the admission procedure for the training courses in special education?

A. Information regarding the courses is published in the national dailies by the Rehabilitation Council of India., and will also be on our website.

Q. Is accommodation available for those wanting to enroll in the training programme?

A. No, we do not have accommodation. Trainees need to make their own arrangements.

Q. What services do you provide for children with specific learning difficulties?

A. We provide assessment and remedial intervention. Please make an appointment by email or on the phone. Remedial classes are held in the afternoon only.

Q. What is the procedure for TB treatment?

A. – Diagnosis is carried out through sputum testing in our laboratory followed by X-ray as recommended by the doctor(Both facilities are available in the hospital).

– Treatment is started for those testing positive for TB.

– Those needing hospitalization are admitted in the hospital as per Doctor’s discretion.

– Patients from outside Dehradun are given medicine for 5 to 6 days and are referred to their respective District TB Officers (DTO) for further treatment.

– Those admitted in Hospital from outside Dehradun are also referred to their DTOs on discharge, with medicines for 5 to 6 days, for continuation of their treatment.
