Day Centre
A day school for children with Special Needs. The children attend special education classes ranging from pre-primary through to vocational training. Some of the residents from Ava Vihar attend the Day Centre as well. Each student is provided a nutritious mid-day meal.
The Day Centre caters to about 120 children and young adults, from the age of 6 years and above. They are placed in classes according to their intellectual abilities, keeping chronological ages as similar as possible.
They are taught a variety of skills including activities of daily living, functional academics, domestics, dance and drama, sports, computers, all of which are incorporated into the timetable. The students have access to an activity room, a library and a sensory room for those who have special sensory needs.
